Moon pictures

Last night the moon was so bright, I had just HAD to try taking pictures with my new "great, wonderful, fantabulous camera." At first, I just did the automatic setting and my pictures were turning out like this:

But then I played around with the aperature and shutter settings. This is one of the pictures. One picture of the moon looks pretty much exactly the same as another. So I deemed it un-necessary to post all 27 pictures of the moon. ;)

I took some of the neighbor's yard lights and swirled them around (that is soooo much fun!). Maybe I'll post them another time. It was neat though 'cause they were green and red.

Exciting Fourth of July

We (mom, dad, the boys, Trisha and I) went to Susan's house for the fourth again this year -- so fun! Homemade ice cream. Homemade root beer (that can be a little strong!) Anyway, delicious!

The boys were in charge of lighting most of the fireworks. One of them tipped over (one of the fireworks not a boy) and was shooting sparks, etc. at us! This happened a different year, too. The last time it hit Susan, but it didn't hit anyone this time, just scared us! :-/ :-)

Then when we were almost done, Robert was lighting a sparkler (for one of the boys). But then all the stuff that was on his lap (other sparklers, etc.) lit!!!!! He threw it off his lap so fast! We were laughing after that, but for about four seconds we were all so scared!! After that, Susan, Trisha, Scott and I went in to play spoons. Andrew joined in for a game or two later. Then we all went home and went to bed. Well, not all of us...

Trisha and I stayed up until 4:45 watching movies. And talked probably until 5:30. When we saw the twilight streaming through the doors, we figured that maybe it was a sign we should go to bed! :-)

Well, these are the top four pictures. Keep in mind that this is the first time I have attempted firework pics. But I gotta admit, I cropped some on the last one. :)

I took these pictures with the digital. It is the yard light, but I moved the camera in a bunch of different directions. Cool, huh?!

Lunar Eclipse... finally!!

Well it has been about a month since I told you about the lunar eclipse. Now my pictures are finally developed!!! Yeah! It is kind of annoying that Bismarck is so far away! ;-)

Just kidding!!! :D but that is what I was worried about. This was the first one that I saw, and I got really bummed. It really lifted my spirits when I saw that a couple turned out or you could at least tell what it was! ;D I am so excited!!! YIPPEE!! YEAH! :D

Actually, the bottom two were the best two out of four.

The pictures are better in person, oh well....

Moon pictures

Okay, last night I was going to attempt to take a picture (well, pictures :) of the moon, but my mom said I could only do that if I took less than five minutes (time it takes to get frost bite!). And I knew I would take longer than that!! So, maybe tonight I can attempt to take a picture of the moon. Notice I said attempt, not take a wonderful picture that isn't blurred! Any suggestions for taking pictures of the moon [Bethany]?
