Moon pictures

Last night the moon was so bright, I had just HAD to try taking pictures with my new "great, wonderful, fantabulous camera." At first, I just did the automatic setting and my pictures were turning out like this:

But then I played around with the aperature and shutter settings. This is one of the pictures. One picture of the moon looks pretty much exactly the same as another. So I deemed it un-necessary to post all 27 pictures of the moon. ;)

Having fun with the moon:

"She's Got the Whole Mo-on In Her Hands" :)

I took some of the neighbor's yard lights and swirled them around (that is soooo much fun!). Maybe I'll post them another time. It was neat though 'cause they were green and red.

Five Reasons Why I Love God

Dustynne tagged me! I've seen this tag going around for awhile, so I hope I don't tag anyone who has already done it! :) Now I have to put into words five reasons why I love God. This is going to be tough!

1. He loved me when he knew all of my faults and even though I still make mistakes, he still loves me!
2. He loves me so much that he allowed his one and only son be sacrificed and tortured for me!
3. His love will never fail, it is unconditional, it endures forever!
4. He first loved me!
5. He guides my steps, even when I think I can do it on my own.

His love is beyond my understanding!!!!!! There are so many other reasons why I love Him, but I just don't think I could even begin to describe it. His love is so AWESOME!!!! Unfathomable, incomprehensible, unending....

I'm so excited!!!!!!

I bought MY new camera yesterday!!!!!! A Nikon d40x! I am so so so excited! But kind of bummed at the same time. You see, it didn't say that you need to buy a memory card separately. So my mom has to look for one tomorrow. Okay, she doesn't have to, but I desparately want her to!!! Do you know how annoying it is to have a great, wonderful, fantabulous camera and be able to take pictures with it?!!!!!!!!!! :-/ Well, I can set it so I can take pictures, but they aren't saved, so maybe I will be able to survive. :) Well, anyway, I thought I'd share my exciting/depressing news with you. Here are some pictures of my great, wonderful, fantabulous camera:

I just realized that...

I got tagged!

First memory - That's really tough especially with my goldfish memory. It might be my grandma giving me a bath when I was little. :)

First real kiss - Huh? A real kiss? I don't know Hershey's assembled fake ones! I'll take a real chocolate one anytime!! Aside from chocolate, never.

First love - Photography

First thing you think in the morning - Do I have to get up?

First question you'll ask in heaven - Why do I deserve this?!

First thing you think of when you hear the word vacation - Are we there yet?

First best friend - If you asked me first best enemy turned best friend, I would say Trisha, but I truly don't know (or remember) who my first best friend was.

Last time you dressed up - For church on Sunday

Last thing you ate - Chocolate. (Of course!)

Last CD you bought - That I bought? Hm, that's tough. A good Christian Contemporary CD that was on sale.

Last good book you read - I'm reading a lot of different devotional books right now. I really like Grace for the Moment or Everyday Blessings by Max Lucado.

Last time you cried - I almost cried yesterday when I discovered I don't have a memory card for my new camera.

Last time you told someone you loved them - Last night before I went to bed (my mom).

Last really funny thing you did - Whenever my friends are over, something funny happens...

Last thing you watched on TV - The last good movie I watched was The Magic of Ordinary Days. I LOVE that movie! Last thing on TV? Probably
What Not To Wear or How Do I Look.

I tag... Trisha, Rachel, and Kris.

Rejoice Like a Jesus Freak

The queen stared out the window and despised what she saw—her husband, stripped of his kingly clothes, dancing bare-chested in the streets like a commoner. Like a drunk. Did he have no shame? She let the curtain fall back across the window and turned away.

King David led the procession as the Ark of the Covenant was returned to Jerusalem. This sacred box, which held the stone tablets Moses had brought down from Mount Sinai, was being carted to its rightful place at last. This was cause for joy. It was cause for celebration. It was cause for dancing!

Trumpets blared, the people shouted, and David danced before the Lord as the procession wound its way into the city. His heart was filled to bursting, overflowing in this outward expression of childlike joy. God saw him and was pleased. God saw Michal’s reaction and was displeased.

They brought the ark of the Lord and set it in its place inside the tent that David had pitched for it, and David sacrificed burnt offerings and fellowship offerings before the Lord . . . When David returned home to bless his household, Michal daughter of Saul came out to meet him and said, "How the king of Israel has distinguished himself today, disrobing in the sight of the slave girls of his servants as any vulgar fellow would!"

David said to Michal, "It was before the Lord, who chose me rather than your father or anyone from his house when he appointed me ruler over the Lord’s people Israel—I will celebrate before the Lord. I will become even more undignified than this, and I will be humiliated in my own eyes. But by these slave girls you spoke of, I will be held in honor."

And Michal daughter of Saul had no children to the day of her death.
~ 2 Samuel 6:17,20-23 (NIV)~

God revels in the childlike joy of His people. Jesus Freaks aren’t ashamed to be fools for God. Like David, they’re more concerned with what God thinks than what other people think—even if it means they look silly in the process.

Have you ever been so happy you couldn’t contain your joy? Maybe it bubbled up in the form of spontaneous laughter. Maybe it spilled onto your features in a contagious smile. Maybe you hopped and danced. Or perhaps you felt so exhilarated you went for a run, taking the road in long strides rather than your usual mid-tempo jog. Somehow, you had to express that inner feeling of perfect happiness, you just had to get it out!

Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

Peter the Apostle Martyred in Rome, 65 A.D. 1 Peter 1:8-9 (NIV)

Kendra!!!!!

Sorry that I've been absent from the blogosphere world! I've been busy doing, well,... hanging out with friends! Hard work, I know. Kendra and I took Andrew to his swimming lessons today and had a little fun with the camera. Right now, Kendra is making fun of my typing.

Lean on Me, when you're not strong
And everyone knows that I'm not strong!!!

You're taking a picture of me, Megan?! Why, I'm flattered!

Yes, sometimes we do go without sunglasses!

A little too close to the camera there! Oops! :D
