WAHOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(I just feel like exploding with excitement!)

YES!!! My internet is finally working! Now I can once again connect with the real (er, blogging) world. ;) So has anything interesting been going on? What have I missed? Clue me in! At Judson, I've been photographing

The flooding by Volkman

The Herrick Chapel

Fireworks at the University Bash (I took 126 fireworks pictures!)
(it changed from Judson College to University this year)

I've also been in class. I know, shocking! I just love it here. The professors, the friendships, (the Dean of Students-- aka my aunt :). Pretty much everything. I have to admit, though. They DO push you harder. A good thing in the long run, but a tad overwhelming at first. (Could you tell by my last post?!) ;D I'm all better now. I've healed. ;) Many thanks to everyone who prayed for me, always appreciated!

So, today I had drawing class. It was so much fun. We used charcoal (so we got really messy!) There was a pile of stuff in the middle of the room and we were supposed to draw what we saw. Started out with one object at a time. After a little while, we went around (clockwise) to the next person and drew on top of their drawing. It was SO MUCH FUN!!! It was a little tricky at first, but then I really go into it. When the paper got too full, we were supposed to wipe it off with our hands (that's when we got dirty). It was so much fun. And you couldn't tell how bad my drawings were! Always a plus! Our homework for the weekend was going around campus and doing 50 quick sketches. I know it sounds like a lot, but it really isn't that bad. (And that was not sarcasm, mom :) [Oh, BTW, design class is fun. It just takes a long time.] I like all of my professors. My psychology teacher actually taught my mom when she went here (For reasons of privacy, I won't say how long)

AND MY COMPUTER GOT FIXED!!!! I'm really excited about that. I hope I will be able to sleep tonight....

Back by popular demand!

It's been Sunday since I blogged! Time is getting away on me. My classes will be requiring a lot of work this year. My instructor (of my design AND of my drawing classes) said that a lot of the beginners will work really hard and get a C. And we are supposed to be very happy with it. Sigh. Maybe I can shock him! ;) There is so much homework though. I was in my design class on Thursday. And I was there in the studio (doing my homework) until 9:00!!!!!! I'm working on New Testament now in the Library (well, I'm taking a break right) and there is so much to do. I only have about six pages left to read. But there are so many questions from the other textbook!!! Ugh. I just found out about them. (I wasn't able to access them before on account of the lack of access to internet.) :-P Well, I suppose I should get back to New Testament. If there is anything specific you want to know about how college is going, just drop me a witty remark! ;)

No pictures, sorry (again)!

Sorry...

that I haven't posted in so long, but the internet isn't working on my computer. I'm typing on Allie's computer. YAY for awesome room-mates! College is great! Orientation was so family-oriented and all in all it was just AWESOME!!!!! That's all for now. I have to read a couple books (someone gave me Passion and Purity-- Elisabeth Eliot & When God Writes Your Love Story-- Ludy's) to borrow. YEAH!

Packing, packing, packing.

We started the day by going to school and packaging tons of items for the school in South Dakota.

Note: Our wonderful, awesome, sw-awesome school, Faith Christian, had to close down due to a lack of students in the area. My mom called the supervisor for the area asking if there were any schools around who needed supplies, curiculum (sp?), etc. (We had it all! ;D) About an hour later, this school (on an Indian reservation) called asking if there were any schools who had stuff (they needed everything). They were starting an A.C.E. school, but since they it would be a Christian school, the government wouldn't help them with funds. So it was by the hand of God that those two calls were made!!!! These people had been trying for seven years, but it just wasn't God's timing. How we sometimes wish it was up to us, but we just have to wait sometimes...! So, a bunch of us (Mom, me, Trisha, Paul, Robert, Lisa and Darcy, Wendy, Rev. Blackman, grandma, and a small group of people from the future (!) school :) were loading up the trailers and packing boxes So that is why we were giving stuff to the school from SD.
(Try as I might, I just can't post without pictures!)

There was so much stuff there! And now it is so empty!!!! :'( It is terribly sad!! But I didn't cry... yet. ;D Yet, this isn't the end of Faith Christian, but rather a beginning. Kind of thrilling, really.

Then after I came home, I realized that I needed to pack. Not such a thrilling prospect. Considering that we are leaving on Thursday early in the morning. So, after going into a whirlwind of packing, I realized that it is a tad overwhelming.

I did have a wonderful break though. I got to go to Susan's and show off my pictures. :D We got a photo printer!!!! It is fantabulous. I'm so excited!!! Except now I am leaving. :( So I have to print tons off (and have). I think I already drained the color cartridge. Oops! :-/ :) After eating a yummy bun with chokecherry jam/jelly/juice... something with a j, I tried to make the font on her computer bigger. Notice that I said tried. It was a nice attempt. Shortly after that, I went to Paul's. In an attempt to help him finish off a bottle of homemade root beer. Like I've said before, it's really strong! I've never had coffee (maybe once, and I hated it), but I KNOW for a fact that this stuff is W-A-A-A-A-Y stronger!!!!
Then I came back home, packed furiously until half past ugh. I'm so glad it's all over. Until I have to unpack everything that is. Oh, the woes of a college student!
It has finally hit me. I'm really going to college in Illinois.

And the boys start school tomorrow.

Matthew 5:16

The valley of the shadow of death holds no darkness for the child of God. There must be light, else there could be no shadow. Jesus is the light. He has overcome death.

Dwight L. Moody

In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:16)

Recap

We had so much fun at Susan's!!! We had homemade pizza (hmmmm!), homemade root beer, and bananas foster!!!!! After all that filling food, we decided we needed some exercise. So we went outside and played Norwegian golf. (I finally know what it is called! :) I'll post pictures later. My battery died on me.

Paul is going to be preaching at Streeter (and a couple other towns), so pray for him. Personally, I would be sooooo nervous, but I know he'll do great! He was the speaker at my High School graduation, and it was WONDERFUL!!! I have his speech and look at it occasionally. Maybe I'll do a post about it sometime.

Praise Him, Praise Him!!

See Vonda's site for the rest of the details! Praise the Lord!!!

Oh dear, oh dear, OH DEAR!!!

I am absolutely and totally addicted to blogging. It's terrible. It's awful. It's fun. I have so many pictures. (I am still in shock from how many pics i have that need sorting.) We made kringle, a Danish pastry with fruit filling at Susan's today. We filled it with apricot, cherry and apple. It is, er... was, very satisfying!! (And I have quite a few witnesses) This post is dedicated to just making the kringle (we won't go into eating it, you just have to experience it!).

Is it ready, yet?!

A couple quick pictures

I LOVE MY FAMILY!!!!!

Lilly among thorns

As the lily among thorns, so is my love among the daughters. Song of Solomon 2:2

Yesterday I got Authentic Beauty, authored by Leslie Ludy, from a dear wonderful friend. And well, I just couldn't put it down!! Scott checked the mail and said there was a package, so I quick rushed to the mail and it was there!!!! Every spare moment, I was reading it. Mom kept saying that I probably won't be able to finish it all in one day. :) Well,... I finished reading it at little after midnight. But I still didn't go to sleep, because Rachel also sent me Before You Meet Prince Charming. So I started on it, but thatn decided that after two o'clock, that maybe I should go to bed! Oops! Well, gotta go and watch for my aunt and uncle. They are coming from Illinois. Adios!
